My changing seasons post this month is a scheduled post.
I don’t have many photos from this month (yet) and the ones that I do have is basically just different takes on the same scene. I went nuts on the post-processing, but it was fun and I don’t regret it! Hehe. Hopefully, after the summer, I’ll have plenty of landscape photos and lots of portraits to share with you.
I also had time to create something artistic for the V2 (version 2) part of the challenge this month.

This is a double exposure (post-process) of a nude model that I shot in a studio and a monkey skull I captured at a scientific museum (Yes, I’m a geek that sometimes do “boring stuff” like visiting museums).
What’s this «Changing Seasons» blogging challenge?
«The Changing Seasons 2016» is a blogging challenge with two versions: the original (V1) which is purely photographic and the new version (V2) where you can allow yourself to be more artistic and post a painting, a recipe, a digital manipulation, or simply just one photo that you think represents the month. Anyone with a blog can join this challenge and it’ll run throughout 2016. It doesn’t matter if you couldn’t join the first month(s), late-comers are welcomed. These are the rules, but they’re not written in stone – you can always improvise, mix & match to suit your own liking:
These are the rules for Version 1 (The Changing Seasons V1):
- Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
- Each month, post 5-20 photos in a gallery.
- Don’t use photos from your archive. Only new shots.
These are the rules for Version 2 (The Changing Seasons V2):
- Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
- Each month, post one photo (recipe, painting, drawing, whatever) that represents your interpretation of the month.
- Don’t use archive stuff. Only new material!

Your work is so arresting, Cardinal G. An original eye indeed. I would never have thought of combining the landscape and railway images in the gallery – yet the contrast is fascinating. And what a lot of fun with the post processing!
Thank you very much Tish!
Cheers, CG.
Oh those skies are amazing! I saw your double exposure on IG and loved it, it’s fantastic.
Thanks Des. I love that one too. I always love it when I can incorporate some tits in my work.
Lol
I think your ‘nutty’ post processing is marvelous. And that second photo is stunningly unique. Hope you are enjoying your summer travels.
Thank you Lisa. The summer travels have been truly great so far. Yesterday we returned from the North and tomorrow it’s off to Belfast. Hope your sailing is great and that you catch some good winds.
I can always count on an interesting collection of photos from you – from the serene photo of the lake to the striking and rather creepy statue 🙂
Thanks. I “discovered” that creepy statue this summer when I took some couchsurfers up there on a tour. 😀
this is so amazing
Thank you!
Crikey, Cardinal! The nuts post processing has made some weeiird skies!!
The skies were actually that weird. Every now and then we get these flaming sunsets. Here’s one from last year that was even more spectacular: https://cardinalguzman.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/flaming-sunset/
Wow, yes…thanks for giving me the link, Cardinal!
Beautifully done, C. I see that you gave flower photography another shot. How bored did you feel 😀 Absolutely love the nude model. Great BW composition, and such lovely soft subtle lighting. Love the strategic positioning of the skull’s teeth.
Hehe, I was visiting some family on the country side and there’s not much to photograph there except from flowers and nature. 😀
I love the nude shot too. Nudity is always fun!
Melbourne has quite a few a few nude street art murals popping around lately. You would love this city. Come visit 😀

Thanks for the entry Tish. I just added the links to posts now and will have a look.
As above ( remember: Speechless?)
I’m glad that I still have the ability to leave you speechless.
Love it! From spectacular skylines to scary statues to hot girls with monkey skulls. What more could one want?
Hehe, thank you Michelle.
🙂

A very eclectic selection from this month, and this time I have even gone out and shot some for the challenge..

Thank you Andy. I’ll have a look at all the entries now. 🙂
Oh, and here is my submission for the month: https://michellelunatophotography.wordpress.com/2016/07/21/july-2016-the-changing-seasons
Thanks for the entry Michelle!
It was my pleasure. Thank YOU for hosting it!
It’s a good challenge to host, because it forces me to produce at least one photo each month.
True! I love your challenge. And, now that we can show wherever we are or what we are doing that month, I have no more excuses.
I’ve recently gotten two more sets of Topaz filters, so I’ve been doing a lot processing too. It’s amazing what you can do with the right … and so much more quickly than using Photoshop alone.
I need to go take some more pictures today. Got them! My post will be up on Saturday.
Of all the challenges in which I participate, this is the only one that I never miss. And as always, it’s a great pleasure to be in such talented company. Great work, my friend. Wonderful work.
Thank you Marilyn. I’m glad my challenge gets you out there to take photos.
*achievement unlocked* 😀
Great work Max! The cardinal keeps impressing me
Thanks a lot Chris! Have a great summer!
I have to look into the change of seasons project. It sounds nice. Summer is ok, not much time for photos however.

I am intrigued by the peeing sculpture/fountain. it is a sculpture, right? 😉
here is my gallery:

Yes, it’s a sculpture (and a pretty cool one too I’d say).
some really great shots…I can see why you’re not ashamed of over time on post process…these are great!! Love the skies
Thank you Badfish.

Well no-one can accuse you of being boring! Those skies seem very apocalyptic. My rather normal post will be ready on Saturday. Hope you are having a good summer 🙂
Jude xx
The summer has been great so far. Only about one week left now before I’ll have to return to boredom/my daily job, but I’ll do my best to fill the rest of the summer vacation with fun too!
My post is up for July, but I don’t think the pingback worked so you might not have seen it, Hope August is going well for you CG 🙂

A very impressive series of photos Cardinal ~ talent both with the lens and with the processing. Incredible.
Thanks a lot Dalo. Have a great summer!
In case I didn’t ping:

Your post didn’t ping so it’s good that you left a link. 🙂
I love these colours, and the statue is brilliant, and your double exposure too. Enjoy your holiday, Max and be safe!
Thanks Paula. I hope you’re enjoying your summer too!
My holiday was great, but I am back to work now 😉
I’ll be back to work in a week and a half, but I’ll squeeze in a visit to Belfast and a road trip on the West coast of Norway before returning to boredom. 😀
That sounds like a good plan, Max!
I can’t agree that you’ve gone nuts with the post processing, Max. Except for the ones with the orange sunset, you’ve kept them pretty natural looking. But do me a favor, don’t post anymore female nudes. My wife doesn’t believe that they have nothing to do with why I follow you and why I enjoy your work. 🙂
The sunseet was actually insane that evening. Every now and then we get these flaming sunsets after rain. Here’s one from last year that was even more spectacular: https://cardinalguzman.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/flaming-sunset/
Hehe, I’m not sure if I can promise anything regarding female nudes, but I should actually shoot some more nudes, so that I don’t have to use the same models all the time. 😀
