He asked, “What makes a man a writer?” “Well,” I said, “it’s simple. You either get it down on paper, or jump off a bridge.

OK, I admit it. I don’t get this one. Like the photo though.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
The connection is the Bukowski quote about jumping off a bridge and the photo of this bridge. It’s not what Bukowski had in mind when he wrote what he wrote, but even if it’s not exactly the Golden Gate, it’s stil a bridge 🙂
Big enough to jump off, but small enough so that you won’t hurt yourself.
It’s very good answer, LOL.
I think so too. Bukowski wrote some good stuff.
this is love ♫

Good one!
Interesting picture too … what lens did you use? and it must have been very low f/stop?!
That’s correct my friend: f/8 according to the data on the original photo.
I used the standard crappy 18-55mm lens that comes with most Canon DSLR cameras.
ok i am ready to jump off the bridge and that one in the pic looks just the one for this..lovely the photo-quote combo 🙂
Thanks Soma. Yes the bridge on the photo is suitable for jumping: it’s small and near the river, so you won’t get hurt.
And I live in a city with way too many bridges! Good thing for writing 😉
Hehe, there’s no such thing as too many bridges!
You don’t have to worry anyway ’cause you’re a good writer.
Aww, thank you!
Certainly the latter for me.
Make sure the bridge is a small one like this 🙂
And the water deeper, yes 😀
lol… good one! 😉
Thanks Claudia

Get it down on paper! Love the post !
Yes, get it down on paper! Or, like Mr. Frizz points out in the comment below:
we even do not need any paper today to be a writer!
Save the trees!
a reply for you, photo of a bridge for Bukowski:

It doesn’t seem to me that jumping off a bridge alone could make a writer. He would still have to write on the page… or on the computer.
I agree, but jumping off the bridge is the option if you don’t get it down on paper (according to Mr. Bukowski).
thanks for your “related” post!
No problem. Great photos you posted for your letter W-challenge.
Wow, such a choice!
Thanks Patti.
Oh, to have that passion for something….. Thank you.
No problem Seekraz

That doesn’t sound like much of a choice! Haha. What an apt quote though to match your stunningly-rendered photo. 🙂
Thank you very much Myra.

Exactly! Any living creature who can scribble something with whatever means is a writer.
