For this week’s WordPress’ photo challenge, Cheri Lucas Rowlands asks us to “select and share a series of photographs. You can piece together what you consider an ideal day, recount a memorable day, tell a (visual) story, or show us some of your favorite things.”
Here are some photos from my trip to Sandhornøya in North of Norway this summer.
I have an insanely large amount of photos from this trip and I’ll probably share more later. Check out WordPress’ post for more “good day photos”: https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/today-was-a-good-day/
Now we’re heading out for what’ll hopefully be another good day and try to capture some new shots. Enjoy your Sunday!
Looked like a wonderful trip you had. Love the late evening shots – nice touch of colour amidst the grey in the sky. Quite a dramatic yet gentle feel to the last shot.
Really liking the new header too. Gives me a ghoulish kind of feeling.
Thank you Miss Mable, I’ll probably play with some more headers soon – it’s a fun thing to make!
The trip was fantastic!
Stunning photos of stunning landscape! I love it how your son is such a smiley and happy-looking little person 🙂 Looks like you two are having a great time.
We had an amazing time up North. Hopefully we’ll get to go there next summer too!
Fantastic light. Ah those good days are delicious.
We love good days!
This really looked like a great day! Love seeing the delight in his little face and the views are amazing.
The scenery up there is just mind-blowing. Thanks Debbie.
Your photos capture the beauty of the day, the fun of the day- it looks perfect! Your son is absolutely adorable!
He’s a charming little guy (most of the time anyway) 😀
A great day!
Yes indeed!
Excellent captures, CG… 🙂
Takker og bukker Niels.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for commenting!
with good light, a good eye and a great photographer
😀
Marvelous pictures !! Seems you two had a great fun and bonding time.
Cheers to million more of such time !!!
Dhanyavad Andy-ji. My son was with me for 3 coherent weeks that we spent in Oslo and up North, so we definitely bonded and had a wonderful summer together. Cheers to more! Skål!
A gorgeous selection of photos and the skies are dramatic in all the landscape shots!! … but the photo with the goggles made me laugh out loud. The caption is hilarious – good one!! 😀
Thank you my friend, I laughed when I wrote it too!
Gilles liked the fact that the lens were different colours. It adds a funkiness to the goggles 🙂
Thanks Joanne for introducing me to Max’s blog. Beautiful photography!
Yes, thanks Joanne and thanks Mama Cormier too!
You’re welcome! 🙂
Superb photos CG…and your son is so adorable!!!! 🙂
Dhanyavad Know-All.
I have never been to Sandhornøya, but it looks like a gorgeous place and very northern-like. Delightful images.
It’s fantastic up there. It’s not too far away from Lofoten (relatively speaking), so the scenery is similar.
your son is adorable… 🙂 great captures of his happiness and those stunning landscapes… happy you are having such great time together!!
Yes, he’s the bomb! Luckily his good mood can be quite contagious sometimes!
Have to tell you, I love these photos Max! Gorgeous scenery and such fun. Love those intellectual glasses. So funny 😎
They were fun. Just had to try them on when I found them!
He he.. Of course 😜
These are such wonderful shots CG. What an amazing series. That last one is stunning and I love the ones with your son, it looks like a really great trip.
I love that last one too. Worked on it a bit to achieve the looks that I was imagining and I’m pleased with the result. Thanks Des.
You should absolutely be pleased. It’s a fantastic shot, breathtaking.
Gorgeous shots, all of them! Great, memorable trip you guys had! 🙂
Yes, it was a beautiful trip. Too bad that my son won’t remember any of it later!
No, but he’ll have the photos …
So many beautiful images from the sea to the sky. That trip seems to have supercharged your creativity. But I am particularly attracted to the last one (tone, color, composition, content) and with the image of your son’s first boat ride. I felt like I was experiencing that moment with him. Wonderful.
Thanks Lisa. I worked a bit on that last photo to make it look like I wanted it to look, so I’m glad to hear that you like it too. The trip was amazing and I’ll post more photos from it later.
Looking forward to more!
It is funny. I don’t know you very well, so I could be really off base here, but somehow, that trip seems to have changed you. You seem lighter and happier as a result. I love your dark side but I am really enjoying this side as well.
Don’t worry Lisa, my dark side will return as sure as the dark season will return.
It’s funny how a little bit of sunlight, summer vacation and quality time with my kid can chase the depressions away 🙂
But, the dark season has once again started and so has my meaningless job…
Okay, well now I’m conflicted. I love both your dark and your light sides so I’m not sure whether to send you wishes of shit or of sunshine. All kidding aside, I hope you find light in the dark season and a way to leave that meaningless job in your wake.
You can combine the two and send me wishes of sunshit 🙂
Waiting for them, too…
This day must have been really good to judge from the photos!
But I wonder why I didn’t get none of your boy…. My tablet’s fault , perhaps?
Ciao, CG , see you (soon)!
Thanks 76. I don’t know why you can’t see them either, but my experience is that galleries sometimes skip a photo here & there.
I remember this header 🙂 Your day does not look twisted at all. 🙂
Just another family dinner in my home! 😀
Looks like a great day indeed.
Takk Richard, det var en flott dag.
Thanks Richard, it was a superb day.
Makes me want to burst into song! The little guy looks like he was having a good time too 🙂
He loved the countryside. A lot of new things to explore.
Wonderful gallery, CG. You and your son look like best friends. 🙂
Luckily he’s still at an age where he thinks I’m cool!
😎
I’ve really enjoyed this particular challenge but with so many people participating I can’t possibly check out everybody’s submissions. I would have missed yours if it were not for Joanne’s link to your site. Sounds like you and her husband Giles and Joanne had a nice couple of hours together. She’s right about your fantastic photos of Norway.
It’s impossible to check out all the submissions. That would have been a full-time job. It was great to meet Joanne & Gilles!
A great day out judging by the huge joy on your son’s face!
A fantastic day (and evening too)!
Such a beautiful area, it looks like it would be hard to know where to point your camera first.
Yes, I ended up with plenty of photos from this trip.
