The Changing Seasons: January 2018

I’m no longer hosting this challenge that I started, Su Leslie is the host this year, so now I’m only participating.

This means that I no longer have to worry that much about the deadline. I also don’t have to constantly check for links and add them to my post. This frees up a lot of time for me.

WPC asked for variations on a theme. My theme is winter. Photo gallery? Here you go:

My version 2 this month is, like last month, a clip from a concert that I held with Synne & Sjur. The clip itself is about 15 minutes, but the link below starts at the last song. If you want to, you can always rewind and watch the whole thing.

These are the rules for Version 1 (The Changing Seasons V1):

  • Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
  • Each month, post 5-20 photos in a gallery.
  • Donโ€™t use photos from your archive. Only new shots.

These are the rules for Version 2 (The Changing Seasons V2):

    • Tag your posts with #MonthlyPhotoChallenge and #TheChangingSeasons
    • Each month, post one photo (recipe, painting, drawing, whatever) that represents your interpretation of the month.
    • Donโ€™t use archive stuff. Only new material!

TheChangingSeasons_6367You can download this photo and use it as a widget on your blog if youโ€™d like to. If you look in my right menu, youโ€™ll see that you can click the image and see all my posts that are related to this challenge.

Don’t be an asshole, buy my music, stalk me online, send nudes, etc.:

    • Thanks Indah. We had a lot of snow, then it was mild and now it’s getting colder. Hopefully we’ll get some more snow again, because a lot of it has melted in the downtown area. Snow brightens up the city a bit in the dark season.

  1. Aw, I love the featured photo, and the mutant animal (WTF is that??) and the food porn: I didn’t get past the food. Glad to see you participating in this challenge you invented!

    • The animal is an example of what happens when you let a horse and a big dog spend too much time alone…
The food porn was tasty and I love the hamsa (the ceramic hand). Tacos with my favorite guy. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • I got past the food porn now and watched bits of the video, which is pretty hilarious. It was probably not meant to be hilarious. But the crossed-legged seat and the cut-off head of the singer are priceless. Much better than the snow. Snow does nothing for me. Snow means freezing to near-death.

  2. Forget the food porn! All that snow is doing it for me. Fabulous photos and I’m so glad you’re still part of the challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you! It makes me glad to know that someone gave it a listen. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜ That animal is what happens when you leave a big dog and a horse alone for to long in the barn: you’ll end up with a Shetlands Pony.

  4. Great winter pictures! It’s nice to not be the only one who lives with “real” winter. So many people I’m in touch with are living in places where it never snows and their winter seems to be a slight cooling off.

Love the shaggy pony!! Does he shed in the summer?

    • I don’t know if she/he sheds or what it’s doing in the summer. Perhaps she’s like one of those tourist-followers like they have in Goa, so she just follows the tourist trail and in the summer you’ll find her on the beach? ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Meant to also say a huge Thank you! for starting up this Changing Seasons Challenge. This is my first time participating, and i realised that Su is now hosting it. But I did want to say thanks for thinking up such a great idea, and hosting it for so many seasons!

  5. Amazing selection. It looks so cold…yet you and the boy and friends look like having so much fun. Looks like you have a good grip on shooting in the snow and damp weather, and no problem posing for the lens too ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. I’m glad you’re staying in the challenge, Max. I always love to see your beautiful world in photos. I like that pop of bright colour from your skiing jacket in that winter whiteness around you. What were the temperatures like in these photos? I’m wondering if it’s as cold, or colder, as we are getting this winter.

    • It was around -4, which is kind of a perfect temperature for me when it comes to skiing because then it’s not too cold. This weekend we’ll get -10 and next week they say that the temperatures will go down to -15. You definitely won’t see me skiing then, because I’ll be busy Netflixing!
BTW: that skiing jacket is really a bicycle jacket.

  7. I loved you as the host of this challenge but I am delighted that you have passed the baton to Sue so that you can continue your creative explosion. Your photography captivates as always (I loved a virtual walk through your winter wonderland to distract me from the blazing sun in the tropics and the street art was magnificent) and your music just seems to bring you alive. And what is not to love about your adorable son who gets cuter every day. He always puts a smile on my face. Your ‘Don’t be an asshole’ comment made me roar. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to in February.

    • The music is definitely something that keeps me going. I had a long musical break in my previous relationship, but now I’m back at it and I’ll never have a break again – unless I lose a fucking arm or something like that. It’s a shame that I can’t sing, but I do it anyway – I don’t give a fuck. For me the lyrics and message is more important. All the artists these days use auto-tune on their recordings anyway – to hide the fact that they can’t sing either. It’s better to be honest about it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really love playing and I do it for at least a couple of hours every day.
My son is a charming guy, that’s for sure.
I can’t remember that I said ‘don’t be an asshole’, but it sounds like a good idea: people (especially presidents) should follow that advice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Safe travels to you and the captain as always Lisa and it’s a shame that we won’t meet in Thailand this year either.

      • Love your voice and your smile when you are using it.

Your ‘don’t be an asshole’ comment at the end of your post was ‘Donโ€™t be an asshole, buy my music, stalk me online, send nudes, etc.:’…but your right, if the President could just honor your first request, the world would be a better place.

        Ahoy from Ko Lanta ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ

        • Oh yes, of course. I forgot that I wrote that at the end. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Unfortunately I don’t think that the president (any oresident really) will read and follow the advice.
Thanks for the smile & voice compliment Lisa. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜
