This was shot in the Golan Heights, near the Israel/Syria border. A remnant from The Six-Day War in 1967. מלחמת ששת הימים.

  1. I remember driving up along that border, through the Golan, in the late 1970s and early 19080s. It was beautiful except for the signs warning us “Hostile Border Ahead.” Put a bit of a damper on the view.

  2. I wonder why they just leave the tank out there. I hope that there aren’t any live ordnance still in it. Can children get access to it?

    • Yes, you can access it and there’s no ammunition there of course. It’s left there as a reminder of the war. There are more tanks in the area too, plus some memory plaques with names of fallen soldiers.
