Three generations. The photos were shot in 2008, 2009 and 2014.

These photos were shot during a six-year span, back in the days when life was still good: in 2008, 2009 and 2014. Two portraits and one self-portrait. The guy on the top and the guy at the bottom unfortunately never met, but they both met the guy in the middle.

  1. I worked at the Weizmann in Rehovot for a few years. It was a lovely town. Reminded me of Carmel, California. I was back again in 2001 by which time everything had changed. Jerusalem had changed the most, but Tel Aviv was also very different. I didn’t make it to Rehovot.

I got back to the U.S. the day before 9/11 … and haven’t been to Israel since. I dream about it, though.

    • You worked at Weizmann?!? What did you do there? Did you have a Norwegian colleague?
The first time I visited Israel was just after 9/11: Jerusalem was almost empty of tourists.
