“Nothing was ever in tune. People just blindly grabbed at whatever there was: communism, health foods, zen, surfing, ballet, hypnotism, group encounters, orgies, biking, herbs, Catholicism, weight-lifting, travel, withdrawal, vegetarianism, India, painting, writing, sculpting, composing, conducting, backpacking, yoga, copulating, gambling, drinking, hanging around, frozen yogurt, Beethoven, Back, Buddha, Christ, TM, H, carrot juice, suicide, handmade suits, jet travel, New York City, and then it all evaporated and fell apart. People had to find things to do while waiting to die. I guess it was nice to have a choice.”
― Charles Bukowski, Women
I met this woman in Pushkar, India and we hung out for a while. Captured on film and scanned.

Great portrait!
Thanks Robyn!
Lovely serene image, Indian women must be one of the most vibrant dressers in the world. I found the quote by Charles Bukowski very interesting. It made me stop and think. “People had to find things to do while waiting to die. I guess it was nice to have a choice.” I agree and I am lucky and give thanks to be living in a country where we have all those choices.
It’s always good to live in a country where we have all those choices. In plenty of countries women doesn’t have any choices at all when it comes to decisions.
I’m constantly grateful were I was born, it is all just luck isn’t it…
Interesting quote. I like the portrait a lot.
Thanks. Yes, I think that the quote is interesting too.
