    • We had actually given up catching fish and were on our way home. We’d only caught one fish, but I was still pleased because I knew that I’d gotten a lot of decent photos. Then we saw a lot of birds and decided to try where the birds were (they tend to hang around where there’s food to get) and we caught fishes on every line that we threw out. We stayed there for a while and caught lots of fishes, but decided to return, even when we hooked fish on each throw, because it was late and we were already tired.
Just a few meters from the boat we saw 3 nise (the Norwegian name for harbour porpoise) – one of the smallest marine mammals. A fantastic experience!
(If you don’t know them, you can see harbour porpoise on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harbour_porpoise)

      • Birds are always a welcome sign when the hook is out. It’s a good day when you tire of fishing before the fish tire of biting.

I have never seen a Harbor Porpoise but hope I do someday because they look adorable!
