Nights – my favorite time of photographing. I love long exposures. Tonight I’m sharing this night photo for Paula’s Thursday Challenge.
I shot this one (technically speaking it’s these four shots) in Terceira, Açores. Angra do Heroísmo, locally referred to as Angra, is a municipality and city on the island of Terceira, within the Portuguese autonomous region of the Azores.

🙂
fa colors here.
Thank you.
whoops. Fab.
Great!
A beautiful and clear night shot. My eyes keep wondering down that flight of stairs beneath the road…. Thank you for the lovely entry, Cardinal.
My pleasure as always Paula.

Beautiful! So much to look at in what seems at first a simple shot. Love it!
I’d love to visit the Azores, Cardinal! Great shot 🙂 I’m following Paula down those steps.
I’ve just started to work/re-work many of the shots that I took in the Azores (I’ve been working on them for the past couple of hours actually), so you can expect to see much more from there shortly. I’ll divide them into several posts, because I shot so many photos!
When were you there?
In 2012. My post-production skills have improved a lot since then (luckily).
Mine have yet to begin 🙂 🙂
The photographs with the underground stairway give the appearance of floating unanchored to the earth. Great effect.
So much to take in. Really have to look to see it all. Great work.
Beautiful! I love night shots too, but I’m rarely out at night…
I always try to fit some night photographing into the schedule when I’m visiting places.
Beautiful shot, Sir!
Yup…nights are good. And your photo is great! Love the long exposure, depth of field, starburst, and car-light trail.
Thanks badfish. I actually had to use 4 photos to get the light trails, because there was so little traffic! (which is a good thing)
