The Blue Bird

«there’s a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I’m too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I’m not going
to let anybody see
you.»  – Charles Bukowski

  1. love the photo of course I am not even going to begin to ask how you did it! The words to me feel as if they come from the heart and you could have written them yourself but i could be wrong x

  2. Not a post I could bypass in my Reader, Cardinal! The image is superb and I like the poem very much too. I seldom visit the Reader, but return visits to comments, so I’ve lost track of you a bit, so it was pure luck I was reminded how interesting your blog is today. 🙂

    • Thanks for the great compliment Jo! I use the reader sometimes, but more often I do like you and return visits to comments. I can understand why you’ve lost track of me, because I haven’t been posting that often lately and I’ve hardly visited any blogs at all. I’m moving into a new home and selling the old one, so I’m living in cardboard boxes and will continue to live like that for the next couple of months.

  3. Magnificent photo, Cardinal. Love what you did to some of the mouths…as if that’s a metaphor for voices being silenced. Someday I would like to experiment with photos like that. Hope all is well 🙂

    • Thanks Mabel. Everything isn’t well, but it’s good considering the circumstances. Someone’s bought the old flat and I have another place that I can move into. The new place isn’t ready yet, so now I’m just waiting for the people that already live there to move out, then the place will be redecorated before I can move in.
I was hoping to move in the beginning of April, but now it’s been postponed to the end of April instead.

      • Redecorating – and all the arrangements, setting up, that comes with moving in – sounds annoying. It is. Hopefully nothing too major needs re-doing. In the midst of it all, hope you have some time to take a few photos and enjoy doing that 🙂

  4. Resurrect some head and

    give some breath.

    Outside with variation.

Slap the flash of sun shadows.

    Fiction.

    Read the story girls.

    Whisper stories, celebrate the taste;

    a guide for ghosts.

    Uncomfortable bend on stone.

    Starlight of flesh.

    Softly Softly Softly

  5. Amazing image! Was thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you had moved yet. Sorry to see it is not so. Stay well – have missed your posts!

    • Thanks for the kind words. Cardboard boxes aren’t that bad, but this time the actual time living in cardboard boxes is much longer than usual. It’s annoying, but it’s just for a period.
