“If something burns your soul with purpose and desire, it’s your duty to be reduced to ashes by it. Any other form of existence will be yet another dull book in the library of life.”
― Charles Bukowski

Wow, not at all what I expected to see! 🙂 Quite a photo.

Thank you Janet. Have a great weekend!
I have to correspond with the same exclamation: BRILLIANT! Unlike me, you’ve come up with your OWN music. The voice has changed since …. India 😀 (me likey it a lot)
Thanks Paula. I’m glad that you listened to the song too. My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I think that this recording was actually done before I went to India (I’ll have to double-check it). I also have a semi-studio version that I’ll post later sometime (it’s on the YouTube account already, but I haven’t posted it in the blog yet).
You are full of surprises. I will make sure not to miss the semi-studio version 🙂
LOve the photo and the quote!!!! Great Cardinal!
Hjertelig takk ilargia64.
Kjempefint… 🙂
Brilliant idea… 🙂
Takker og bukker Mr Danmark!
I like that raw music a lot!
(And there was some Bukowski in my blog entry today also…)
Have a nice day and I smile to you,
Ben
Thanks for the compliment Ben. I checked out your post and must say that both your voice and piano skills are excellent! You’re a fan of Bukowski too. I like your style.
…I don’t know Bukowski very well at all, though, (not by lack of interest; it is just that I rarely read since a couple of years) but when I randomly stumble upon his words, it clicks with me most of the times…
I sat down one summer, drank wine and read all of his stuff: poems, novels, short stories – everything that the local library could get (they even had to order stuff from other libraries to meet my demand).
Well, with the help of wine, maybe I should try some more reading one day. Nice idea.
Woww loved the qoute and photo..best wishes.cheers
Thank you very much!
Wow, that’s a creative self-portrait.
Thanks. As you’ve probably noticed, I like my self-portraits a bit on the dark side.
As it happens, I had noticed 🙂
ToTTaLLy Kewl *(*@*@*)***~~~~ Sayz da’ Q 🙂
Thanks Q!
What a quirky and smart response to the challenge 😀
Thank you Mara.
What Bukowski says is so true. Anything less is a betrayal of arts and desires.
Yes, a betrayal is a good way to say it. Thanks Niina.
That is a delightful composite photo. It sure looks like an endurance – in a place nobody wants to experience. It’s really a spellbinding photo which I can keep looking at time and time again. And Bukowski’s quote goes right to the core of the creative endeavour.
Definitely an endurance, but still better than being “yet another dull book in the library of life” like Bukowski so masterfully wrote it. Thanks for the great feedback Otto, “a spellbinding photo”, I like that.
What a great quote and I enjoyed the song too. 🙂
Thank you! I’m glad to hear that you liked the music too!
Wow, this is a great image. I’m guessing it’s you? It’s really convincing – looks as if it’s a still taken from a video or something.
Your guess is right: it’s me, both on the photo and playing the music.
And you can write too. You are certainly a man of many talents. Well done.
