I accidentally came across these people who were fighting, viking style. I asked them if it was role play or sports, they said it was a sport.

Sport you say? LOL!
When i saw your title I assumed you’d photographed a bar fight! (I guess that says something about my wierd thinking)
A bar fight could have resulted in some seriously cool photos!
It sure would!
Interesting sport. No helmets?
No, they didn’t wear helmets.
I wondered about helmets too… must be the mom in me. 🙂 Great photos!
I remember my mom forced me to use helmets, knee pads and all kind of other protective gear when I was skateboarding as a kid. I looked like I was going to go on a space travel adventure!
Looks like a lot of fun. Perhaps slightly dangerous.
I guess you can get a good beating if you’re not paying attention.
till death do ye part maybe fighting like dat .not i say dis’ ol guy 🙂
Definitely not a sport for old guys.
Some people just have to get it out of their systems I suppose.
This seems like a fun way to get it out of the system.
love the beard.
Makes it look more authentic.
Nice pics. The “Medieval” tournaments are held at the Abbey Museum (near Brisbane) every year. Attendance is huge with many of the audience/visitors dressing up in medieval clothing. Fun day out 🙂
Probably a great day to let the camera out of the bag.
something very different 🙂
Yes it was. I’ve never seen a fight like that.
What a wild and unexpected encounter! 🙂
Totally unexpected!
each to his own… 😉
Yes. I prefer downhill biking for my adrenaline rush.
Draco asked a valid question. Where are the helmets?
They didn’t use helmets in this fight. The viking helmets with horn on the sides is just something you’ll see in Disney movies and on souvenirs. Some wore helmets, but not with horns.
Fascinating info 🙂
