Beautiful photo:)
Takker og bukker granne!
🙂
It is beautiful, and a wonderful capture. Did you use additional light? What time of day was it?
I only used natural light. It was around mid-day, with sun and clouds.
The golden on that branch makes me think you have added something in post-processing. It is lovely.
I just shot in raw and brought out the detail from the branch that in the jpeg file was hidden in darkness.

Here’s the original file:

Thank you very much Max 🙂 You did some post over-exposure I guess, or you even highlighted the branch – selective exposure and lightening? It’s really cool of you to show me your original file 🙂
My pleasure Paula.
I didn’t add any brushes to selected parts of the image, I just used overall settings:
General:
added contrast (+45)
lowered highlights (-86)
increased shadows (+95)
adjusted whites (+26) & blacks (+14)
added clarity (+36)
Tone Curve:
highlights (+90)
lights (-22
darks (+40)
shadows (-22)
At the end I sharpened the image and added a tiny bit of lens vignetting.
😀 I appreciate this a lot, Max. Tusen takk
Thanks a lot for this tutorial, it’s highly appreciated, Max.
It’s one of the nicest shots of Tönsberg I have ever seen.
Greetings from the Rhine Valley

Know Tønsberg very well – an idyllic town in “winter dress” too… 🙂
Yes, it looks very nice when it’s covered in snow.

Beautiful photo! Great composition, I especially like the tree wrapped around the cloud and the white clouds and blue next to it…. Perfect, CG!
Thanks for the wonderful feedback Amy!
Lovely light!
I don’t know Norway all that well, but the name Tönsberg I remember well from my working-life. Perhaps there’s a smelteverk or something similar.
I don’t know much about Tønsberg and nothing abut the industries there, but here’s some info from Wikipedia (in your native tongue):
How charming that town looks all blanketed in snow….
Yes it does. Thanks for the comment and visit!
Great picture Guzman. I was down there just two weeks ago, both my daughters live in Sandefjord 🙂
Sandefjord seems like a nice place. I’ve only been to Tønsberg once and that was when I shot this photo.
I like the editing and the curl of the branch !
very beautiful.
looks like a post card.

The light is exquisite!
A beautiful winter scene Cardinal!
Beautiful
It’s a nice shot and I like the way that you handled the editing, thanks for showing the original file.
No problem. I hope it can be helpful 🙂
What a fairy tale landscape! Beautifully composed and processed.
It looks like it’s in one of those snow globes. 😀
Nice photo. I used a 400D before I got a 5D.
I still use my old camera sometimes. For example if it’s raining heavily (none of my cameras are waterproof).
