The theme for the weekly photo challenge this week is selfie. Cheri Lucas Rowlands over at WordPress writes: “if you don’t want to share a photo of yourself, think of a way to approach this challenge in a different way. (Hint: silhouettes and shadows are your friends.) A selfie doesn’t have to be all about you; it can reveal much more, given the elements you choose to include.”

Are ‘selfie’ and ‘self portrait’ the same thing? I’m not sure. I have completely different pictures in my head for the two terms. I think I’d call this a self portrait rather than a selfie. Thinking . . . thinking . . .
I agree with you. They are two different things and these are self-portraits, but I just called them ‘selfies’ so that they would fit the theme of the photo challenge…
A selfie is a typical mobile phone photo, where you hold the camera (the phone) in one hand.
