I just posted a photo for the Weekly Photo Challenge theme ‘renewal’ earlier tonight, but in the spirit of the challenge I went and ‘renewed myself’ by taking some fresh shots. I’ve taken multiple light trail shots of the train earlier, but this time I tried out a new, elevated angle.
What images does Renewal conjure for you? Get creative. Think beyond the usual images (a sunrise, a birth). – Cheri Lucas, WordPress
Here’s two of them, fresh out of the camera:

Light-trails from train photographing in low-light, with the cityscape of a rainy Oslo in the background.

They’re both great, but the first shot is excellent – really like the ghostliness of the trails in that one. the shot looks spooked.
Thanks Richard. The first one is also my favorite. The light and the format is better.
brill’ photos, love the colouring,,, great take on theme..;)
Thanks Gerry!
Okay I am definitely coming to Oslo now. WOW
You’re welcome here anytime. Like I’ve said: I’ll be your local tour guide.

I agree with Richard and you – like the first most too, but both great shots – love these lightlines, very well captured… 🙂
First one is definitely best. The format is more suitable & the light is better.
Love both. Just excellent…. 🙂
Glad you like them. Thanks!
Fucking fantastic- sell the second? Really big with lots of urethane on the canvas- awesome! Renewal=movement
Urethane on the canvas is a great idea, it would make it shine.
You are welcome!

I like your “renewed myself”…good one. 🙂
Love your images and it seems to have a chilly look to it…is/was it cold out?
Anyway, I love your entries. 🙂
Thanks Sunshine. I can’t remember if it was cold or not that day, but it probably was a bit chilly.

Hi Rick! I’ve been busy lately as well. Having difficulties keeping up with the blog reading & commenting. The day doesn’t seem to have enough hours to cover it all 🙂

I really enjoy how the light trails convey a feeling of speed and the busy-ness of the city.
Thanks SMC. I hadn’t thought of it before, but yes, you’re right: it does kind of capture a tiny glimpse of all the stress & the running that’s going on in the city.
