I like that hallway shot. Tungsten light is typically awful to work with, so you really have to work extra hard to envision situations in which to make it work out in a photograph. You’ve done it here. The warm yellow glow, reflected and contrasted in straight patterns, creates an intimate atmosphere that says “This is my home, a good home”.
fantastic lighting on that first image. and the second image looks like a beautiful place to be. thanks for sharing. am not able to sign in as ‘pix & kardz’ for some reason, but it is really me. http://wp.me/p1hfki-2J7
Lovely bottom shot.
🙂
I like the top one. 🙂
Me too.
The shadows of the top photo lead towards the distance. Nicely done.
I’ll let you in on a secret: It leads into Norman Bates’ shower.
Underbart fina bilder. Ha en trevlig helg! 🙂
Ha en riktig god helg du også Britten.
great pictures and take on theme 😉
Thanks Gary. What about you, are you posting something for the photo challenge?

Both great, but the top one pips it for me. I like the irony of the “warm” yellow light actually making the scene look very cold.
Thanks Richie Rich. The top one is definitely my favorite too.
I like the light in your hotel hallway 🙂 Did you have cloudy weather all the time?
No, we had sun too, but there was too many cloudy days. The weather changed frequently like it often does on islands in the Atlantic.

Great shots! That hallway shot is so good!
That first one is beautifully lit. 🙂

Thanks for this great feedback Allan.
I agree: tungsten can be difficult to work with and give the photos a kind of cold and clinical look.
Both are beautiful. But I like the top one best because it took more creative thought to realize you had a beautiful shot indoors.
Thank you Myth. Judging by the comments here it seems like most people like the hallway photo best and I agree.

I enjoy them both, but that first one is so striking, with the light and warmth and reflections. Very nice!
Thanks. I agree: the first one is better. The second one is too ‘gray’.
