I’ve already posted a picture for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week, but I also felt like sharing this painting that I painted during the rainy season in Nepal back in 2005. It’s really about indulging, on many different levels, and it’s not subtle about it either!
I am just an amateur painter, so there’s a lot of things with this painting that I am not satisfied with when it comes to details, shades etc. So the painting is far from perfect, but I like the idea of the painting.
Earlier I also posted another painting for the weekly photo challenge. Check it out here: Oil on Wood – Weekly Photo Challenge (cardinalguzman.wordpress.com)

Didn’t know you paint. Is it just nudes?
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
No, not all nudes. You can see two more paintings in this post (none of them are nude):
Wow! Those didn’t come up when I looked at your post. Well done. Now I remember seeing the man before but didn’t realize you painted it.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks Francine. The ones on that last link are self-portraits.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Very provocative and yes, not subtle, but nicely done Cardinal. Margie
Thanks Margie. How is your art classes coming along? Do you go there weekly?
I like that…I think art should wake you to emotion and I think that it is certainly the case with this…
Thanks Jo, it’s nice to hear that I can stir up some emotion! 🙂
Oh you did that all right…hehe
I can’t imagine painting at all, so I am in awe of what you’ve created. Wonderful! I feel abandon…as she closes her eyes and yet is deeply connected to the earth.
Thank you for this lovely comment Kathy 🙂
A man of many talents! How wonderful to realize your creativity in painting and photography.
It’s only photography these days, which suites me fine as it’s a medium that I am more comfortable with.
nice creativity in painting
Nice cloudy photo there Amar-ji.
Errm…Not subtle at all, but I do like it
Glad you like it Mike. Great photos in your blog BTW.
reminds a little bit to Emil NOLDE, expressionism, Maria Egyptiaca series …
Thanks for namedropping Emil Nolde & comparing my painting with his. Emil Nolde was new to me 🙂
Definitely not subtle, but thought provoking, for sure and I think it shows great talent! Keep up the good works! 🙂
Thanks for the compliments Granny!
Wow…this looks intense. As an artist myself, I admire your creativity, imagination and openness. This piece definitely is not for those with inhibitions. Art is art….it is meant to be enjoyed and to stir the mind and emotion….
I agree with you: art is meant to be enjoyed and to stir the mind and emotion.
I am very glad to hear that 🙂
Wow, she is fabulous!
Yes she is Patti. Thanks for commenting.
