Tattoo | Ink | Skinart
Some years ago I wrote the History of Tattoo for an international tattoo chain. It was written in Norwegian and now I’ve finally started to translate it into English. The English translations you’ll find here is from that article, but I’ve rewritten/ added/ removed some parts.
I still need more illustrations for my next articles, so feel free to send in your photos. My hope is to get illustrations of all different styles of tattoos. Here are the tattoo posts that I’ve written so far, but there’s still more to come.
- The History of Tattoo – Part 1: Polynesia and New Zealand
- The History of Tattoo – Part 2: The Americanization (Westernisation) of Tattoo
- The History of Tattoo – Part 3: The Indians
- Photos of Tattoos Wanted
- Tattoo in Progress (weekly photo challenge: hands)
Thanks & Respect goes out to:

That’s a kick ass tattoo! Awesome size and art work!
Can I have your permission to use it in my upcoming article in this series on Japanese tattoo history?

No problem, here is the link of the site of my tattooist.

I guess you noticed I like to shoot pictures of girls with tattoos.

Yes I noticed. Perfect for me
I love tattoed girls!
(Let me know if you want to illustrate my next article in this series on the history of tattoo. The subject will be biker tattooing).
The plan is to publish it this holiday season.
(or if you have any photos that’ll fit into any of these categories: biker-, prison-, punk-, japanese- or pop art tattos).

For the most part, I don’t know if any of the girls are bikers. If you see something you want to use, let me know. All I care about is a link back to here & credit.
