If you’re going to try
If you’re going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don’t even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery–isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you’ll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you’re going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It’s the only good fight there is.
― Charles Bukowski, Factotum

Great shot! Looks like silver paper? How come I already feel like I live my life this way?

I, too, feel almost like I’m already living that way
Perfect treatment for that lovely picture.

You definitely went all the way: moved to far, far, far away land.
I’m still living in the over-sized kindergarden called Scandinavia.

Yes, wonderful shot – so much so that I accidentally clicked the like button instinctively! Great quote too.

Thank you Richard. I like Bukowski and find him very quotable

For some reasons, every time I see a Bukowski quote in the summary I get as an e-mail, I know – I just know – that I’ll see some genius shot.
I know the initial shot itself was nothing short of great, but might I add – what fabulous, mindblowing, fantastic post-processing!

Thanks for a lovely comment Kriti-ji. I’m flattered and Mr Bukowski would have been to (though he most likely would have pretended not to care).
On this and a couple of other photos I’ve been playing with some new post processing techniques (new to me that is). I’m glad that you like the result.

A “starving artist” Bukowski quote that I always remember. I like the scene here and the edit very much.
