Archway of the Night
Sometimes I love wandering around alone, taking photos in the middle of the night. This is a photo from one of those sleepless nights.

But even the cats are asleep…

If you look closely you’ll see that a car passed by.

Fabulous shot, CG. So, you are a night owl.

I often wake up early or during the night. Then I bring my camera in an effort to capture some magic.

I would love to do that too … but I’m a little scared nowadays. I’d love to get pictures like yours here …

The Azores is safe with a low crime rate, so there’s no problems taking night photos there.

Thanks Deanne.

Sometimes, I think, you never sleep at all.
I love the night, but Delhi is a tad too unsafe to venture out after dark… especially for women. Sigh.

Delhi can be unsafe for women as we all know from the news lately. It’s a shame. Oslo can also be unsafe for women: there’s a lot of rapes happening, but none as brutal as the gang rape that recently took place in Delhi.

Lovely golden color and really nice perspective too. You captured the emptiness of the night well.

Thank you very much George. I found the perspective to be interesting. Some cities almost seem like strange, abandoned places during the night. Quite fascinating.

The colour’s beautiful – but the sense of sleeplessness does come across. I guess it’s the emptiness and the light.

Luckily I had a couple of sleepless nights while we were there. Got some good shots that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise.

Thats cause you’ve got a great camera! Nice!
January 11, 2013 at 00:08
I bought a Canon EOS 300D that I used for 8 years before I upgraded to a 600D last year. I am very pleased with the upgrade, but a good camera doesn’t produce nice results by itself – it depends on the person behind the camera.

True but it surely helps!! The illumination challenge will be difficult for those without the proper equipment but I will try- can’t wait to see yours!

Oh yes, I love archways too… very romantic

The Azores was romantic, but the food was shameful.

Really??? Now, that spoils it for me
((( Food is very high on my list
