  1. Love how you can see the really urban buildings peeking through in the background…

    • A typical Oslo sight: landscape/nature mixed with some urban details.

  6. Gorgeous color and light.

    • Thanks Angeline. I had to take a few shots, because the artificial lighting in the waterfall kept going on and off.

  8. Wow – now where’s that atlas – would be good to know where exactly the Aker river is :-)

    October 10, 2012 at 08:42

    • It’s the river that divides Oslo. It ends up in the Oslo fjord next to the opera house.

        Oslo is a beautiful city…

        October 10, 2012 at 16:04

        • Some parts of Oslo, but there’s also dreadful, ugly and boring areas.

Here is Cape Town its like that, too. You have the lovely areas, the rough areas and the areas that are so dull you’d rather jump off a cliff than live there.

        • When I was in Cape Town the tourist guides were more eager to show us the lovely areas :)

    • Cape Town is great. I visited back in 2003-ish. Had a lot of fun!

That’s great! The weather at the moment is pretty good, too! Haven’t visited Norway yet but I really want to!

  10. Magical shot, Cardinal. Understated and spectacular at the same time.

    October 11, 2012 at 15:08

    • Understated and spectacular, thanks Richard. I guess this means that I’ve actually managed to capture an oxymoron on camera :D

      • :D I guess you have!!!!

  11. Wow!!! Are you saying that *selva” is river in Norwegian?

    October 13, 2012 at 16:22

    • No, ‘elva’ means ‘the river’ in Norwegian. The S in the word Akerselva is a genitive case.

  12. Beautiful, but looks very dangerous!

    November 23, 2012 at 03:45

    • This river is mostly dangerous for the fish: last summer the governmental run company that supplies Oslo with it’s drinking water managed to dump 6000 liters of concentrated chlorine into the river. Result? All the fishes, frogs and other marine life died instantly.

      November 23, 2012 at 18:20

      • I’m not really sure what else they were expecting to happen, gah!
